The 59th Annual United Nations Department of Public Information / Non-Governmental Organization Conference will be held at UN Headquarters in New York City from 6 – 8 September, 2006. The conference theme is “Unfinished Business: Effective Partnerships for Human Security and Sustainable Development.”
Topics to be addressed include models of partnerships to reach the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Plenary themes include: Finance, Transparency and Accountability, Science and Education, Technologies, Information and Communication, Values and Religious and Multicultural Dialogues, Health, Hunger and HIV/AIDS.
There will be opening and closing sessions, three morning and afternoon plenary sessions, six round-tables, and mid-day interactive dialogues and workshops.
