The UN Youth Leadership Summit will be held at the UN Headquarters in New York from 30 October - 1 November. It’s a mysterious event because the website has minimal information on the Summit’s agenda and selection process.

In early May I emailed all four email addresses I could find requesting more information. Last week, I received a reply, indicating that “the selections for youth delegates have been according to previous regional youth summits. In certain cases, we may select additional delegates. Kindly refer to your UNDP office or your Ministry of Youth and Sport whom we may contact for additional participants. If you have additional inquiries, please email only: unyouth.summit@undp.org.”

I’m not sure if any Australians are attending - we were not represented in the regional youth summits (one of the difficulties of not fitting neatly into either the Asia or Pacific regions). If any readers have further information that they’d like to share, feel free to contact me.
