The Australian Broadcasting Corporation Advisory Council invites young people in greater Melbourne aged 12 – 30 to participate in a consultation with Council members around young people on their engagement with the ABC. The consultation will aim to build a snapshot of young audiences’ engagement with the ABC and other media, to better understand the ABC’s strengths and weaknesses in relation to young people and to develop a framework to ensure that the ABC remains relevant to young Australians.
Results of the consultation will help inform the ABC Advisory Council’s next discussion paper on Young People and their Engagement with the ABC, which the Council identified as an issue of concern earlier this year. The discussion paper will provide strategic community input into decisions taken by ABC management and the ABC Board. In the past, discussion papers have also been included in the Corporation’s Corporate Plan processes.
When: 10AM – 12:30PM, Thursday, 6th of July, 2006 (An ABC Advisory Council Member will meet participants at the entrance to International House at 10AM.)
