Alan at the UNYC 2006: 10 July, 2006: Sydney
28 May, 2006
My participation at the upcoming United Nations Youth Association of Australia National Youth Conference (9 - 16 July, 2006: Sydney) has been confirmed. I will be speaking at 12:00 noon on 10 July in a panel session on the challenges and opportunities for young people in community participation. I’ll be joined by Tom Dawkins (founder of Vibewire.net) and Bec Jenkins (Australia’s first International Court of Justice trainee).
Despite an interest in the area and having heard of them previously, I’ve never attended a UNYC before. I’m looking forward to the experience: from what I hear, the youth-run conference manages to regularly enlist good speakers and draw a sizeable audience (of about 130 young Australians, who all share an interest in international affairs).
